We are celebrating here at Una after being awarded Silver in the Spa and Wellbeing Experience of the Year category in the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2021/22.
The competition, which is now in its 20th year, saw an increased 125 entries. Winners were announced on 3 February, with the organisers congratulating the resilience of this year’s finalists in an ever-challenging environment.
Accepting the award, our director James Hemming said: “Huge congratulations to our spa manager, Bethany, along with the rest of the team. The past couple of years have proved immensely challenging for everyone operating in the wellness sector and I’m incredibly proud that despite everything our guests have continued to enjoy a first-rate experience and The Spa at Una has managed to shine.”
Pro Event Rider Fred Scala, who lives locally and uses Una’s leisure facilities to train, congratulated the team, saying “The Spa and gym at Una is the perfect blend of luxury and functionality, offering me not only a place to push my fitness to new levels but also a serene environment to relax and unwind. I’m not surprised they’re winning awards, well done guys!”
Set at the heart of our luxury resort at Carbis Bay, the Spa at Una encourages guests to take time for wellness, with four treatment rooms providing an extensive range of pampering and holistic treatments, a sunlit 15-metre swimming pool, children’s pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room alongside the Life Fitness gym, which boasts an active local membership. The wild, elemental setting combined with the use of award-winning Elemis products brings together nature and science for the ultimate escape.
Built in 2015, Una St Ives was acquired by Kingfisher Resorts in 2016 and the Spa opened in 2020. The next phase of the development of our resort will see the addition of a 20-metre heated lido with an additional children’s pool and outdoor kitchen, bar and restaurant to complement the existing facilities. Exciting times ahead!
